Transforming offices into student living

My goal was to achieve the most with the least amount of changes. I moved some inner walls, made a few openings in the load-bearing walls and updated the facades. Otherwise the building is almost entirely intact. Having served as an office space, the change into living quarters for student was not a big leap. I’ve imagined each floor to contain a central common room, laundry room, four studio apartments and two shared flats for four people in each end of the building. Each apartment, including the bedrooms in the shared flats, have their own bathroom. These are very space efficient - exploring how much area is the bare minimum required to serve it’s purpose. The building was constructed in the 60’s. My transformation attempts to utilize the furniture style and materials of this era to achieve practical living quarters that embrace the retro vibe.
